It has been a looooong time since I had been coloring. Especially with colored pencils. But last weekend I finally managed to finish a coloring page that was lying in my studio for literally MONTHS!
It was a page from one of Masja van den Berg’s coloring books, titled ‘Masja’s Mandala’s’. I think I started somewhere in July last year, and the book was on my desk all the time, open, ready to continue…
Well, I sat at my desk very often, looking at the not even for a quarter colored page, and really NOTHING happened. I didn’t know what colors to choose, and didn’t see me finishing this page at all.
But then I saw a video on YouTube from someone introducing their new Derwent Metallic pencils, and that suddenly sparked a tiny bit of inspiration, which I immediately took advantage of!
Much to my surprise I was able to step over my ‘coloring block’ and continued to color the page and in just a few hours it was completed! Whoop whoop! *doing a happy dance*
And here’s the result (if you haven’t already seen it in, or via, my social media posts):
For this coloring page I’ve used:
- Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils
- Castle Art Supplies pencils
- Posca Acrylic markers
- Derwent Metallic pencils

Wanna see my studio?
My next blog will be about my studio. I’ve been wanting to film my little studio for you for quite a while now, to show you how I’ve (sort of) organized my art supplies. And just to let you see where I’m doing all my crafty and artsy things 🙂
So I haven’t filmed that yet, but I will be doing that the next few days. Add some time for editing and hopefully the video will be up next Tuesday. Keep an eye on my website, and I’ll see you then!
