Today I ran into something fun on Facebook. At Hobbycompleet De Duif they started the Summer Challenge today! (They are one of my favorite art supplies stores in the Netherlands)
So, summer challenge it is. Which means that you’ll get an assignment every week for several weeks in a row. Every assignment must be done on one and the same project. So every week your project goes a little step forward.
Summer Challenge video
And today I’ve started right away and completed the first assignment. The assignment was ‘orange and green’. In the video below you can see what I’ve done! (And immediately ‘admire my new video intro and outro – *I’m actually kinda proud of it* 🙂 )
For the ones who rather read than watch video I’ll just tell y’all what I’ve done. I’ve started by taking a page from the Art Journal by Art by Marlene. Then I’ve used three greens and two orange colors and finally also a red, all from Dylusions paint. First I’ve applied green paint with my finger onto the paper and then I’ve used a spatula to spread it over the page. In-between I’ve dried the green with a heat tool and after that I continued with the oranges and the red.
Art Journal Summer School 2018
I’ve got no idea where this project is going, but I really do like it to work on a single project for several weeks. And then to see it grow into hopefully something beautiful!
Today there were also two new lessons released for Art Journal Summer School in which I participate. In the next blog I’ll tell you a bit more about it and show you some of last week’s work, when we started.
Well, go and have a look at my video below. And remember to subscribe to my channel on Vimeo or Youtube (or both, that’s fine too haha!)
